feral trash creature art made by neurospicy trans sweethearts

HI! YOU MADE IT! COME ON IN!

Somehow, our little business is three and a half years old already, and continues to evolve and grow in all sorts of delightful directions. What was once a scrappy little booth at an evening summer farmers market, has now turned into our actual livelihood (and more!). We are so hopeful that you will delight in our queer feral trash creature art and that maybe some of it will find a cozy new home with you or your friends, loved ones, maybe coworkers... Enemies?

We're Joan & Dylan - two neurodivergent queer trans sweethearts just doing our best, tryna survive capitalism
while also doing something that brings us joy.

Welcome to Critter Butts.
We hope you find joy here, too.

About

Did you know that we Opened A Store?!
(and soon a queer community center!?)

In September of 2023 we partnered up with a trans-run antifascist infoshop

to create 'The Beautiful Idea' - a brick and mortar store on

the downtown mall in Charlottesville, Virginia.

It's 1/3 bookstore, 1/3 Critter Butts, and 1/3 art, jewelry,

and gifts from local queer & trans artists/makers.

Find us @the.beautiful.idea on Instagram

at www.thebeautifulidea.gay

or at

411 East Main St, Charlottesville, VA 22902

Mutual Aid

As marginalized creatures, accessibility and community are incredibly important to us. We try to pay ourselves a living wage while also offering accessible prices that our peers can afford - so cards and stickers are always at the lowest price we can manage, and we offer sliding scale pricing on shirts sold in person at markets.

We also gather up 10% of profits to send to trans people in need, as reparations, and to organizations supporting land back, water protection, and other community efforts crucial to our survival as creatures within a wounded ecosystem.
